Statement on Ex-FRSO Members

Comrades,

As organizers and students, we have seen numerous SA coverups from so-called “revolutionary” organizations. These coverups are not unique to any one organization, but are a widespread symptom of a large institutionalized problem. RRC has been isolated by larger, chauvinistic, community organizations due to our commitment to holding abusers accountable and seeking justice via transformative means. As a consequence of standing in solidarity with us, many other student led organizations have been isolated by the broader “movement”. We will continue our commitment to exposing SA and Abuse in organizing spaces, regardless of the isolation tactics leveled against us and others seeking accountability.

There will be no movement with abuse and chauvinism. There will only be a strong powerful movement through justice and accountability. Chauvinism, abuse, and SA have no place in these spaces, and neither do those who defend them. We encourage all those who seek these same values to support the ex-FRSO members in their fight against SA coverups within that organization. It’s important to note how orgs like PYM and FRSO have done the coverups in the name of “unity”. We see time and time again unity and the sanctity of “the movement” being put above those harmed and those who have done harm. Just as PYM and affiliates labeled us as feds, wreckers, and cops, so too does FRSO label these comrades the same way. FRSO and its front orgs are constantly dismissing these criticisms as “wrecking”, and we have seen DAWC, NAARPR, and FRSO directly accusing their critics as “wreckers.” To imply that standing against coverups within an org is wrecking the movement only shows how these individual orgs genuinely believe they are the movement themselves, and not the people. No organization is above criticism, and no organization is the movement entirely. As we oppose book worship, as must also oppose the worship of individual so-called revolutionary organizations.

We urge everyone to stand in solidarity with these ex-FRSO members and stand against FRSO’s attempts to dismiss and further cover up the harm they create.

Red Salute
RRC
